NewinTown: Quadrilles

Rachel Lipsitz

London based math pop is a great introduction for this trio, which blends in catchy tweet, funky tunes and a good dose of irony (and not just in music, as you will read). The band is working on a new EP, but in the meanwhile is out with the double single ‘Jigsaw Technique’, available from Amazon and iTunes.

Introduce the band to somebody who's never heard of you:

A musical trio of varying heights, genders & facial hairs, who’ve been creating curious rhythms and sparkly melodies for nearly three years now.

Three words to describe your sound:

Broken, glass, helicopter.

Artists who influenced your music:

Toe, Redneck Manifesto, Maps & Atlases.

What are you up to at the moment:

We’re having a little break whilst Jamie (bass) cycles from Portland to Mexico, Paula (drums) tours with Graeae’s Reasons To Be Cheerful musical & Ken (guitar) remixes everything he can get his hands on. His mixing projects to date include the awesome new single by Olympians (download it free here http://olympians.bandcamp.com/album/wake-up-soiled) and each track on our upcoming EP which should be out Easter 2012. Got something you want remixed? Let him know here: quadrillesmusic@gmail.com.

Where else we can find you on the Net:

See http://quadrilles.bandcamp.com for free downloads and our website http://quadrillesmusic.co.uk for everything else.

Tell us something nobody knows yet, tell us something exclusive:

Ken is collaborating with a lion dancing troupe on a music video for our song 恭喜发财 (Gung Hei Faat Coi) aka The Chinese One. See their website http://www.yellowdragon-kung-fu.co.uk/lion-dance.html to fully appreciate the greatness of this idea.
