If You Were…Munroe Effect

Munroe Effect is a progressive, schizophrenic rock band from Southsea, Portsmouth. You can get a taste of the debut ‘Ultraviolenceland’ from the bandcamp of the group. Daniel, Andy, Richard & Jack replied all together to the questionnaire providing some quite interesting answers.

If you were a color, which one would you be?

Orange. This was a toughie, Probably orange because according to google its meant to be representative of endurance and we’ve been through a lot in the last 18 months and we’re pleased to say we’re still going!

If you were a genre?

Post Post regional accent popcore …. nah only kidding  – rock.? Coz we’re a Rock band

If you were an ice-cream flavour? Any thing with nuts.

If you were a movie?

Suspiria:  It’s a classic 1977 Horror Movie directed by Dario Argento, the same dude who wrote Once Upon a Time in the West. Basically it’s occasionally unhinged, graphically violent but mainly about dancing!

If you were an instrument?

Drums. The obvious answer would probably be guitar but our sound is so influenced by Jacks style of drumming, Drums is probably the best answer.

If you were a super power?

The Power of Augmentation (like Fabian Cortez in X-Men). It’s the ability to enhance or weaken the powers of others. It would be handy to weaken the power to bullshit people by those who hold positions of influence or so called authority. Maybe enhance their hidden good qualities too if we felt like it!

If you were a music decade?

1960. It’s the decade of rock music and saw the birth of loads of different bands and ideas from Hendrix, Dylan, Pink Floyd and it’s when Johnny Cash recorded the San Quentin record. In some way we’re all affected by the beginning of what’s known as The American Counter Culture which began with things like Woodstock and the Monterey Pop Festival too. It’s probably the most exciting decade where hope in something different last existed in music.
