NewinTown: Fontaine

Fontaine is party-noise duo based in Leeds, who formerly played in other bands like Kytes. Unfortunately there are no recorded songs on the Net yet, but you can have a go with their links and videos, like the one I am sharing below. If they pick up your interest, read their introduction under the cut!

Introduce the band to somebody who’s never heard of you:

We’re Fontaine a really new two-piece band called based in leeds made up of Andy & Luke. We’ve been playing music together for years in various other bands and we gel real well (we think). Our songs are powerful with big beats and loud licks.

Three words to describe your sound:

Power, Upbeat & Rad

Artists who influenced your music:

Man, we always find it hard to list influences. In terms of artists there are loads that we like and love to listen to, including… Maps & Atlases, Adebisi Shank and Noumenon. But in terms of music that has influenced us and our sound, there’s an immense amount of subconscious sounds that have been imprinted on us since we were like 13 years old. Growing up we’ve been through stages of Green Day, Spineshank, Propagandhi and Blakfish, but at the moment we’re really digging Big Success.

What are you up to at the moment:

We’re currently making the finishing touches to the first handful of our songs. Practicing in Luke’s basement in Leeds most weekends making it rain with condensation (small rooms get very warm).

Where else we can find you on the Net:

You can find us via two well known internet portals including facebook and twitter..

Plus because we’re so new we don’t have no songs recorded yet which is a bummer.

But check out our practice videos here –

Tell us something nobody knows yet, tell us something exclusive:

We’re going into the studio over the Christmas holiday to record our first single, to be released in 2012! Pretty exciting stuff righ? Hopefully people will like it.

Thanks for chatting to us!
